Espadrilles
Happy Wednesday!
Today is a wonderful day because I received the best package in the mail ever! I finally upgraded cameras. I officially am now a proud owner of a Canon 5D Mark iii with a 35mm 1.4 lens. Let me tell you, I HAVE BEEN MISSING OUT. I can't believe I have waited this long to buy a 5D. I have photographed multiple weddings these past few weekends and I decided that I needed an upgrade. I know I am capable of creating even better images, but it took me awhile to figure out I had to have the equipment to do so. Also, if you have't figured out yet, I AM ENGAGED!!!!! Yes, I said it, ENGAGED! OHHHHH and I am getting married September 9th of THIS year!!!!! Let's just say I am going to be a busy girl.
Anyways, the above outfit is one of my summer favorites. I am such a shoe freak and I always want the newest trend that is out. These tie up espadrilles are perfect with ANYTHING!

The Elsa Braid
I call this the Elsa Braid, and that is because it reminds me of a Disney Princess. This hairstyle is so simple to complete. This took less than 4 minutes to do!!!! I love learning how to do quick and easy hairstyles. This makes my mornings a lot easier. Here are 5 easy steps to complete this look:
1. I pull my hair back into a low ponytail but I leave a little piece out (So I can hide the hair tie)
2. Wrap the extra hair around the hair tie. I connect the hair into the hair tie I am all ready wearing.
3. Braid the ponytail a little over halfway down.
4. This is the most IMPORTANT step. If you want a thick looking braid it is so important to pull apart your braids.
5. I pull out extra pieces of hair to cover my ears (this is optional).

April Showers Bring May Flowers
Happy Sunday! I
hope everyone has had an amazing weekend. It has been a cold one here in VA. I
had to pull out my winter coat to keep warm. Thank goodness the weather didn't
kill my plants! I spent the weekend with my boyfriend's family, so I have been
away from my house all weekend. The only good thing about being gone from home
for a few days is when I return I have lots of things to pick from in the
garden.
I have been
getting lots of asparagus lately, but man do I LOVE it! Asparagus is by far my
favorite vegetable. I cook my Asparagus in the oven on 350 for 18 minutes. I
add olive oil, salt, pepper, parmesan cheese, and lemon juice. I highly
recommend trying it! Also, if you ever want to plant something that keeps
growing all summer, asparagus does just that.
These beautiful
May Flowers can brighten up any home.
Here are a few
ways to place your flowers around your home:
1. A table composition made from
eggshells and flowers looks really springy and fresh. You can also add green
twigs, pebbles, dried flowers, or any other decorations. You can even
replace the eggshells with sea-shells of different sizes.
2. Making
a wooden box or tray into a hanging shelf is not that hard
to do. Such shelves with flower pots inside of them look perfect
in country houses or Provence-style kitchens.
3. Any
grass or small flowers in a basket will create a cozy
atmosphere in your home. Inside, you should put some treated sponge
to help preserve the freshness of the plants.
4. Blossoms
of an apricot or cherry tree in simple glassware will bring
spring right into your home. You can take twigs that only have buds and they
will bloom in your house, giving off a sweet smell.

Barefoot Blonde Hair
I am so excited for today's blog post because it is the launch of a new category! I am adding Hair to the blog! I will be showing different ways to do braids, curls, and everything in between! I have the best hair stylist in the world (Amanda Taylor) and she always keeps me stylish! I wanted to try something different with my hair, so I stepped out of my comfort zone and bought Barefoot Blonde hair Extensions! Yes, I said it ....HAIR EXTENSIONS! The amazing Amber Fillerup is my all time favorite blogger, and she created her own extension line and I had to get them! I am in love! My hair is pretty long all ready but I needed to add some thickness to create the braids I wanted. I highly recommend these extensions and they are very easy to cover. Checkout her website at www.barefootblondehair.com
The style above is a simple french braid. Once the hair is braided pull it apart to make it look extra thick. I added two rubber bands to the bottom of the braid to add more detail.
I am excited to launch this new category on my blog! I hope you enjoy it as well.

Spring Stripes
Hey everyone! Happy Sunday! Sorry I have been MIA the past couple of weeks. I was working out of town at High Point Furniture Market (so fun). I also have been re-thinking my blog a lot lately and really want to get this thing going. I know that blogs take a lot of work, but I am ready to get the show on the road. I have always enjoyed fashion, interiors, gardening, and anything in between. I have also added a category to my blog...... (I will announce later this week). The hardest part about blogging is getting someone to take the pictures for you. I am a photographer part time, so I am really picky about how things look. Usually, I get my mom and brother to take my pictures and they do the best they can. Today, for the above outfit my boyfriend took these, and he ACTUALLY did an amazing job. Super thankful for the supportive team I have. Another thing I struggle with and always have is my grammar and writing skills. I have never been the person to dig deep and write about things. I have always been super self conscious about my grammar/spelling, and my mother told me this week not to let that get in the way of anything I do in life. SHE IS SO RIGHT! Sometimes you just have to DO IT! I can't wait to start this journey and see where things go.
This outfit is one of my all time favorites!

Friends & Fashion
This weekend was one for the books! You know those friends where you can go a couple weeks without talking, but pick right back up where you left off? Yep, it's these 2 girls. We went to the Liberty University Fashion show on Saturday night and if you have not gone before it's a MUST! Last year I was actually a designer in the show and this year I was a ALUMNI watching (time goes so fast). Liberty University Fashion students have so much talent and I mean that! If you have not gone to a fashion show I highly recommend going to the LU one in April. Anyways.... when you go to a fashion show that calls for a mandatory dress up night.

Backyard Greenhouse

Today I have been incredibly happy probably because it was 80 degrees here in VA, and my plants are doing so great in my greenhouse. They are growing so quickly I can hardly keep up. It is all most transplanting season and that means less sunlight for these babies. Sometimes to much sunlight can damage your plants. I have covered my greenhouse to protect my plants from the sunlight. Just a few quick tips for transplanting.
1. Make sure your plants are ready for the big move to the ground.
2. If they are tomatoes make sure to pull apart multiple plants.
3. Dig hole in ground
4. Transplant your plant from the container
5. Put plant in hole
6. Cover with dirt and potting soil
7. Water
8. Watch it grow!
