Garden Season FINALLY

Hey guys!!! Welcome back! I am so excited about my blog today. I’m pretty sure this is my favorite post of the year! I am officially done with my spring classes and I just started my online courses for summer (no fun). I am beyond excited to be home and enjoying my garden. Gardening is one of my favorite things to do with my free time. I love being out in the sunshine and watching Gods beauty grow each and everyday.

You’re probably wondering why I got into gardening in the first place… First of all I enjoy being outside and love the beautiful sunshine. Also, my papa (Kent Wheeler) has gardened his whole life, and I have watched him over the years and learned many tips from him. I also enjoy spending time in the garden because I get to spend lots of time with my sweet papa. I’m pretty sure there is no one wiser than my papa, he has taught me so much over the years.

I am going to share with you how to get your garden started. 1. Teal up the soil and get the dirt very soft (it will help you out in the long run). 2. Dig holes (Depending on the plant, each hole needs to be a certain size). 3. Fill each hole with topsoil. 4. Fill holes with about 4 cups of water. 5. Dig with your hands and put the plants in the holes (this is the messy part). 6. Push the extra dirt back over the roots filling in the hole. 7. Water plants 8. Watch them grow

Simple and Easy!!!!

Encouraging words

Hey guys, I know that life is always busy, but man my life has been extra busy this month. Summer is just a week away from today and I am so excited to start my blog back up. School is at it’s all time high this week, but I know the good Lord will get me through. Summer is just around the corner, and I have some great blogs planned out. Hopefully I will be blogging at least three times a week during the summer, since I will have more free time. I want to share many things with you such as, gardening tips, fashion, beauty, and of course the latest trend in Interior Design. I enjoy each of these categories very much and I hope you guys will like it as well.

As this week continues I just want to encourage you with some scripture, Proverbs 15:1 says, “ A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger”.
This verse has been my verse of the week. I think it’s very important as a Christian to stay positive, and kind throughout the day. I know life can be hard and we say mean things to others, but it never turns out pretty (so why do it)? My goal for the week is to show Christ love through the kind words I speak. Nothing is more powerful then words. I can’t imagine the lives we/ I could change if we just spoke with kind hearts. Maybe you should try and apply this to your life this week, and see all of the wonderful things that could come out of it. I hope each and every one of you has a blessed week. Lots of fun blog posts are coming soon! Stay tuned!

Color and Space

Neutral Warm Colors

This picture is a good example of colors. How fun is this blue door? It looks great with
the grey paint on the walls.

The centerpiece in this room is the fireplace. They based the space and decor around
the fireplace.

Good sunny afternoon! I hope all of you, are having a great day! ( I know I am) I hope this weather makes you take a moment out of your day, to put down your homework, computer, and life stress events to the side. I have not even had room to breath lately, with the load of school work I have had, but this sunshine made me take a moment out of my day to sit outside and do nothing but enjoy God’s beauty.
Sunshine always gets me in the mood to blog (So here it is).

This week in my Interior Design class we learned about style. Style is such a important thing when it comes to decorating your home. There are many things that can be considered with style. First, what colors are you in love with? Colors are the biggest factor when choosing style. You don’t want to choose a color that you will get bored with, 10 years down the road. I love neutral, red, and dark mint. HINT: When choosing a paint color always go a shade lower then what you chose. Color is very deceiving.  Also, when considering style, try to figure out what you want for your centerpiece, (the piece you want people to notice when coming in your home). When you find that wonderful beautiful piece for your home, base everything else off of that one item. Decorating is all about your style, and it’s very important to know what style you are.

Sunshine and Flowers

Hey guys, I am so glad I am back in action with my blog today. It has been a crazy two weeks. Last week I had spring break, and this week I have had 4 exams, and I am all most done for the week (thank goodness). I hope all of you have had a wonderful week so far. I have been grateful for the weather we have had this week. Weather makes a world of difference, with how my attitude changes. I am so glad the Lord has gave us sunshine so hearts will grow stronger. I also am very thankful for this time of the year. I love spring!!!!
While I was trying to figure out what to do for my blog today, all I could think about was sunshine and flowers. I am such a fan of gardening and growing beautiful things. While I was scrolling through the Pottery Barn website, I noticed all of the vases they had for sale. Wow, they have such beautiful vases, to put those spring flowers in. I am such a fan of the Irving Vase, and the simple wall mount vase. I love hanging things on my wall, what better way to celebrate spring then hanging flowers to the wall in a vase? I will be purchasing these vases in the near future. FLOWERS, VASES, and SUNSHINE! It’s the perfect combination!

What Island are you?

I hope all of you have had a wonderful week so far. I am on spring break and I am trying to relax as much as I can before heading back to school. I’m enjoying this week with my mom and friends.(Thats always fun)
Today, I was scrolling though the Southern Living website and found a section on kitchen Islands. I am a huge fan of Islands. I love having more room in the kitchen for counter space. You can never go wrong with more space. Southern Living did a cool page, on how to approach your island style to fit your home perfectly. They had around 20 different Island types. I loved the traditional look for the Island. Go check out their website and find out what island type you are. It is very important to know your style before jumping into building your dream kitchen. Go check out their website for great ideas.
( The pictures posted above are the Cottage Casual Island, Vintage style Island, and the Handsome Island… enjoy)
